1. Определите, в какой степени сравнения стоит прилагательные:

coolest, bluest, thicker, freer, worst, truer, better, smallest, greatest, slower Переведите на русский язык и определите их исходную форму.

2. Переведите устно предложения и назовите положительную степень выделенных прилагательных и наречий:

Her eyes are darker than Helen's. In summer my room is cooler than the other rooms. In winter it is the best and warmest room in the house. I like it best. The new bridge is longer and more solid than the old bridge. This dress is even worse than your black dress; it is older, too. Your hands are less hard than mine; they are whiter, too, because I work more. Give me some more water! We have less time than we want. The weather is colder in autumn than spring though it is warmer than in winter.

3. Найдите в тексте урока прилагательные в сравнительной и превосходной степени и дайте их исходную форму.

4. Образуйте причастие I от всех глаголов, встречающихся среди новых слов урока.

5. Вставьте вместо точек some или any и переведите предложения:

Do you know ... of these girls? There are ... foreign visitors in the park.... of my friends live in this house. We haven't ... time. Do you like ... of these animals? Yes, I like ... of them. I do not like ... of them. Give me ... water. We do not see ... bat here. What fruit do you want ~to buy -... fruit that is good for small children.

6. Переведите предложения:

He says nothing. He does not say anything. No man can do this. Nobody can do not know anybody in this city. I know nobody in this city. He sees nothing on the hill. He does not see anything on the hill.

7. Переведите письменно на русский язык последний абзац текста. Потом переведите написанное вами обратно на английский язык. Сверьте свой обратный перевод с оригиналом и исправьте ошибки, если есть.

8. Перепишите предложения, поставив вместо русских слов английские:

Man has two (глаза) and two (уши). I (чувствовать) warm. The bird flies (вниз). Let's (поймать) this bird. I (начинать) to study. Bats (едят) insects. (Некоторые) bats (пьют кровь). We must (действовать) quietly. Have you (достаточно) money? They are (заняты). I cannot (спать) (так) long, (хотя) my room is very quiet. Let's go (вместе). The hole is ten (дюймов) wide. 9. Выпишите из текста урока названия частей тела.

10. В тексте вы встречали слова arm [a:m], ear [iə], eye [iə], head [hed], leg [leg], teeth [ti:θ]. Вам известны также слова hand [hænd] кисть руки, foot [fut] ступня ноги, mouth [mauθ] рот. Запомните также слово nose [nouz] нос.

11. Назовите вслух по-английски изображенные здесь части тела.
